Program Spotlight

The Engineering Transfer Associate of Science (A.S.) degree program provides you with the opportunity to earn the first two years of education that is required for a four-year engineering degree. Graduates of the program may choose to continue learning at a four-year institution, begin their chosen career in the workforce, or utilize their education for career advancement purposes. The Engineering Transfer curriculum is built around a strong basic core of mathematics, the sciences (including chemistry and physics), computer technology, and opportunities to experience a variety of forms of engineering. You will gain knowledge of engineering theory through engineering courses and application of theory to real world problems. Students are provided with hands-on experience in the design, development, implementation, and management of projects and in the communication and presentation of their ideas and project plans.

The A.A.S. in Addictions Counseling curriculum provides theoretical coursework along with practical, hands-on instruction and field experience necessary to attain certification as a certified supervised alcohol and drug counselor (CSC-AD). Successful graduates are also prepared for transfer to a 4-year institution for further study in psychology, social work, or related human services programs. Students already possessing a bachelor’s degree who are seeking the coursework and supervised fieldwork needed to become certified in addictions counseling can also benefit from this program.

Almost every area in today’s world revolves around computers and the use of computer applications. Think about it - medicine, communications, automotive technology, weather forecasting, entertainment, mining, forensics, manufacturing, disaster recovery, security, law, business, the list goes on. For practically any area you can think of there is an application of computer technology.  A degree in Computer Science prepares graduates to transfer to a four-year institution to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Secure Computing.
