This form allows us to understand and plan for the needs of your class and students. Lead Instructors should submit this form for each class being taught.

Please note that you and everyone in your cadre must also complete the Academy's Registration Form which will be used to collect check-in information. A reminder and a direct link will be shared at the end of this form.

All Garrett College classrooms are equipped with projector, instructor station and commonly a whiteboard as well. We recommend that all presentations be downloaded to a flash drive and projected from the instructor station.

What style of classroom suits you best?

Any Computer Programs that need to be installed? 

Note whether it is needed for only the instructor machine or both instructor and student machines.

Will the installed program need to be available for the day or for the duration of the class? 

College machines are automatically wiped each night removing search history and saved platforms or documents. If a saved program is needed for the duration of the course, we will ask IT to suspend that process temporarily.

Do you plan to use any remote presentation materials or links?

Do you need assistance with the NWCG Learning Portal (if utilizing this platform)?

Do you specifically need a room without a carpeted floor?

Any particular classroom setup needed?

Any additional classroom supplies needed? If so, what?

The Academy will have a Training Specialist onsite to assist students with documenting Position Task Book items correctly. Do you expect students to accomplish specific PTB elements in your class? If so, which ones?

Any other classroom items or needs that we might have missed?

Student registration closes on Friday, April 24th and we'll update you with registration numbers for each course. Soon after, we will share student names and contact info with you directly. 

It is then expected that the lead instructor will reach out to their students with a friendly welcome/introduction and share any necessary information (if applicable) such as prework links, review of prerequisites, general information or items the student should prepare or bring to class.

While registration for new students closes Apr 24th, students might drop, switch classes, or be added from a waitlist up until May 15th. If the college provides you with student contact information by May 18th (3 weeks prior to the Academy) does that provide enough time for you to review and for your students to complete any required prework or other needs?

The Academy is trying to utilize student textbooks online where possible rather than ordering physical copies. Are your course Texts/Supplies able to be downloaded electronically by students? If you feel this is NOT going to suit this course, please share your thoughts.

If online texts are not an option, what specific hardcopy textbooks or instructional materials will you need the Academy to order/supply?

The college will pre-print student completion certificates for each onsite course. Instructors will need to stop by the Check In desk before the course's conclusion to sign the certificates. The college will then scan the final certificate copy to an online file for student record and the signed certificates can be distributed by the instructor once the course roster is turned in.
